Cancellation of PSSA sport for Term 4

Following consultation with all schools across the zone, the decision was made to not proceed with PSSA sport in Term 4. This decision was made based on available advice from NSW Health and the Department of Education at the time of our zone meeting as well as concerns regarding the cost of participation for students if a limited number of schools committed to a PSSA season. We look forward to resuming PSSA sport and other zone sporting events in 2021.

Opportunities for students with disabilities to get involved in sports are available at various levels throughout the school sport structure, from participation to elite. The participatory (or provisional) level does not require classification, however, if an athlete wishes to compete at a regional, state, national or international level, they will need to gain classification through the appropriate sporting organisation.

2020 PSSA Update

PSSA will continue in a modified format for schools who decide to participate in this non-competitive version of the season. Winter PSSA sports will be on offer for both Senior and Junior teams.

  • Mixed Netball

  • Boys Soccer

  • Girls Soccer

  • Mixed Oztag

Modified rules will be established by Sport convenors where changes are required to be made due to venues, equipment or COVID considerations impacting on a sport being played using the ‘regular rules’.

Department-level considerations for COVID will be developed and attached to rule packs for all sports to ensure that all games/sports are compliant.
